    Thanks for sharing this. It really got me frustrated, asking “how do I get around this”. But maybe even more, aware that I may be living a sheltered life without even realizing the fact.

    It made me think of how important it is to be in community with people and having conversations that really matter. I think real community, and being engaged in the lives of those in our circles (work, neighborhood, social), provides the best means to ensure we are not “sheltered” in these ways.

    It’s ironic to me because I think the church has been doing this to themselves for generations by disengaging from culture and anyone “different” from us when we “join” the church. How may Christians only shop for books, music and greeting cards and “christian” bookstores? Do you have your “Testamints” in your pocket? (http://www.testamints.net/)
