I must admit something. When I pray I feel unproductive at times. I’m always tempted to DO something rather than PRAY about it.
But the magnitude of the devastation in Haiti has shaken me out my illusion that human effort can solve human catastrophes. We need God’s will/power/presence on this situation. Daniel 10:12-13 tells me that there is so much we don’t understood about prayer but also reminds me that supernatural things happen when we pray.

GALATIANS 3:26-28 NLT
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Growing up in Kuwait, I experienced discrimination like you would not believe. There was and still is a class system in which different nationalities (usually immigrants) are on different levels in society. Discrimination and inequity was practiced freely.
