Green light

28
February

If you logged on Feb 24th to our online worship service, then you probably heard the Green light announcement.
We as a church feel like we have gotten the Green light to start the process of prayerfully investigating a permanent location for our church.

Here is what we need to be clear about:

1. We have not identified a location
2. We DO NOT have a time line to move from Mallard Creek High school
3. We will update you as we move forward through this process
4. Our motivation is to leverage our efforts into the next generation, outreach and to have a citywide impact.
5. This will be a long process so we covet your prayers

Lessons and thoughts…

1. We should do online services more often – maybe a little shorter

2. Maybe a live online weekend service (typically everyone does a prerecorded one)

3. We should have an online youth group experience

4. This is an interactive worship experience that allows ‘healthy’ chat – teaches people to solidify their beliefs by forcing them to articulate their thoughts

5. We are able to remove physical boundaries and yet simultaneously create a safe personal space.

6. Justin Lee and Rob Wax are amazing.

While there are several lessons to learn from that story it can ultimately be summed up by this profound statement “in the church where the lame walk – liars die.”

Translation:  Don’t expect God to increase the miracles in your life without increasing the accountability in your life.

If you are like me, you want all the miracles, the blessing, the favor,…

Matthew 17:1-9
Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves…. Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”

Jesus picks three of his disciples to experience an amazing moment but asks them to zip it till the time is right. Evidently, one test of leadership potential lies in a person’s ability to handle sensitive information.

We are called to ‘live in the light and not walk in darkness,’ to live authentic lives. But sometimes we get confused between being appropriate and being honest. But as Jesus points out, there is a difference. There are moments…
